The History
Numbers On Napkins formed in the hot summer of 2003,
following the demise of their former band Yars Revenge.
NoN wasted no time, and immediatly entered the studio
with Aaron Carey (Megadeth, Sheryl Crow, Stevie
Nicks, etc.) and released their debut album "Waiting for
Tomorrow" on Bad Stain Records. The CD was the
fastest selling solo release in the history of Bad Stain
Records, selling over 4,500 copies to date.
Numbers On Napkins toured extensively for the release
and performed with bands like Bayside, The
Independents, Yellowcard, Bullets to Broadway, Groovie
Ghoulies, Zebrahead, Authority Zero, Tokyo Rose and
various others.
NoN's name was soon known worldwide in the
underground music scene, thanks to an onslaught of
articles ranging from local magazines like The New
Times, Get Out Magazine and the College Times, to
national publications and websites like Maximum Rock
N' Roll and Punknews.org.
Their first single "Runaway" had positive responses in
many online and college radio stations, and their video
for "Broken" was nominated for Best Video of the Year
at the 2006 AZ Ska Punk Awards. In fact, they have
been nominated four times for Best Pop Punk Band at
the AZ Ska Punk Awards, and once for Best Melodic
Punk Band, Most Comical Band and Best Live Show.
In the summer of 2006, Numbers On Napkins follwed up
the debut release with their E.P.
"Quickerdrunkenlouderharder", also on Bad Stain
Records. This time they chose Ryan Butler, guitarist for
both Northside Kings and Landmine Marathon to record
at Arcane Digital Recordings. The album was limited to
2,500 copies and was also praised by various
publications and webzines. Thus, opening up a slew of
sponsors to help support the band including Fender
Guitars, Bud True Music, Lucid Dream Tattoos and
Lithium Clothing Company.
After performing with legendary punk pioneers The
Queers, NoN approached frontman Joe Queer to help
co-produce their next release. Joe agreed and NoN hit
the studio and continued to record tracks with Ryan
Butler for their upcoming release "Borrachos, Chingasos
Y Rucas". The album is scheduled for release in June
of 2007, followed by extensive touring to promote the
release. Numbers On Napkins also plan various other
releases, including a Christmas album, a cover album
and a two hour DVD, being released over the next three
years. Look for Numbers On Napkins in your town soon.
